Dear Readers!
In the mystery of Christmas, “the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared” (Titus 3:4). For our salvation, God became fully human, taking on the full drama of human life, which is marked by sin, suffering, and death. God was born as a human being so that through his death and resurrection he could free us from the slavery of Satan, sin, and death, and open the way to Heaven for us. The truth of Christmas brings us great joy and hope. No one is ever alone because we are all united with Jesus, who gives humanity infinite dignity and value. The defenseless Baby Jesus, Emmanuel (“God with us”) shows us that God’s love is vulnerable because we can reject it. If we accept it, it becomes almighty. Then, it transforms us and brings us into the reality of Heaven, making us “participants of the divine nature” (2 Peter 1:4).
God’s birth mystery is fulfilled in us only when we accept our greatest treasure, Jesus Christ, present in the Eucharist, with faith and a pure heart.
